Leaves and Football

This Saturday was full of leaves and football!  In the morning, Sarah helped Daddy with the leaves in the backyard.

Of course, "helping in the backyard" quickly turned into "playing in the backyard"...

Eventually, we went inside for lunch.  Sarah decided that while I cooked her a grilled cheese, she would make some cow soup...

Mmmmmmm...

This afternoon, the focus turned to football!  Grammie and Pa-Pa came over for dinner and Pa-Pa stayed to watch the K-State game read to Sarah.

Sarah went to bed at the end of the 1st quarter, but K-State ended up walloping West Virginia. The win bumped us up to #3 in the BCS rankings, so we'll be wearing lots of purple this week!  Go Cats!!!

Pudding

Tonight Sarah had her first encounter with cook and serve pudding.  I didn't plan to make the pudding tonight, but Sarah ripped into the box as I was putting the groceries away and forced my hand.  Of course, no one complained too loudly about getting warm chocolate pudding for dessert!

Sarah helped me mix the milk and the pudding mix in the pot.

Then she returned to tearing up the pudding box!

And when she was all done tearing up the box, she put the pieces of cardboard in the stroller!

The highlight of the whole experience, though, was getting to eat the pudding...

At the Park

Today was the perfect fall day.  Perfect.  We're talking blue skies, temperatures in the upper 70s, leaves all aglow PERFECT.  Sarah and I played in the backyard for a while after school, and then we went to Antioch Park to meet Daddy for a picnic dinner.  What a great way to spend a Tuesday night!

Antioch Park is beautiful any time of year, but there's something special about that park in the fall.  I don't know if it's the lake or the type of trees or the rolling hills, but I really think it's one of the best places in Kansas City to enjoy the fall colors!

Sarah enjoyed playing on the slides and swings...

...and running away from Mommy on the park's paths!

Here are a couple of my favorite fall pictures of the night:
