8 Months Pregnant

EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT
The Survey

How far along? 34 weeks.

Total weight gain? I've been sick for 4 weeks now, so I've actually lost weight.  I now weigh two pounds less than I did when I got pregnant, but I'm sure that the weight will all come crashing back on once I'm up for eating again!

Maternity clothes? Ohmygod yes.  Nothing else even remotely fits anymore.  Heck, some of my MATERNITY clothes don't even fit anymore...

Stretch marks?  Oh, yes.  Welcome back, old friends.  They aren't nearly as bad as they were with Sarah, but they are definitely there!

Sleep? Sleep?  What's sleep?  Between me coughing and Sarah waking up three times a night, there isn't much sleep happening for me these days.  I should be well prepared when baby gets here, though - I'll have had months of sleep depervation training!

Best moment this month? Learning that this kiddo is head down and ready to rock!  I don't want her to come too early or anything, but I'd love to go into labor on my own to see if we can avoid another C-section.

Miss anything? Walking sans waddle!

Movement?  Less frequent but far more intense.  At one of my sonograms, the baby was "frank breech" (head and feet up by my ribs, butt at the bottom!).  Then she flipped around so that she was head down.  Needless to say, it was pretty entertaining to watch my stomach rock and roll as she made that big move!

Food cravings?  No.  Since I've been sick, I really don't feel like eating at all.  I'm trying, though!

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Some stupid virus is making me sick, but I'm not having any issues with food or smells right now.

Gender predictions? It's a girl!

Labor signs? No, but I can tell she's dropped.  There's a lot more pressure than there was a few weeks ago, and my belly is lots lower.  It's also harder for me to walk up stairs or get into our bed!  (Silly husband!  Who buys a mattress that sits higher off the ground when your wife is pregnant?!)

Symptoms? Continued heartburn, stretch marks, and frequent trips to the bathroom.  Plus...you know...the belly!

Wedding ring on or off? On. It's getting harder to get on in the mornings, though!

Happy or moody? Happy and slightly overwhelmed by how close we're getting to our due date...

Looking forward to: Finalizing all the "details."

Thoughts: I'm so ready to meet this baby.  I've had several sonograms now where I can **almost** see her little face clearly, and I'm just dying to kiss those chubby cheeks!  I remember how nervous I was at this point in my pregnancy with Sarah, and I feel much more zen this time around.  Don't get me wrong - I'm still worried about plenty of things - but this time I know that, no matter what happens, I get a beautiful baby girl at the end of it all!  Totally worth it in my opinion. :)
