Sarah's First Week

Sarah's first week was a week of many first things!  It started with her first breath on March 21 and our celebration of her birth.  Her first car ride came on Thursday, March 24 when we drove home from the hospital.  It was only about a 5 minute drive, but she slept through the whole thing...

Here's some pictures of Sarah's first minutes at home:

Once we were home from the hospital, Sarah got her first sponge bath on Saturday, March 26.  She held up surprisingly well - especially considering that Tom and I had to figure out how to wash her hair without getting her umbilical cord wet!

Sarah's first snow was Sunday, March 27.  This caught me a little off guard - I thought we would have to wait until next winter for that! We just got a dusting, but it was enough to stick. It was even more amazing when I thought about how just one week ago I was sitting on the deck in the sun, killing time before we left for the hospital!!!

Sarah also had lots of visitors her first week at home.  Grammie and Grandpa Jeff came by almost daily, and Uncle Adam stopped in for some quality snuggle time, too.  Tom took advantage of the napping baby as well - he and his girls (Sarah and Pickle) enjoyed some quality together time before he went back to work on March 30.

The rest of our week was spent figuring out feedings and sleep patterns, increasing our speed in bottle preparation and diaper changing, and realizing that our little girl is even more amazing each and every day!

Even Pickle celebrated Sarah's arrival!
