If You're Curious...

Sarah loves watching Curious George on PBS Kids every morning.  I love that the theme song ("If you're curious, like Curious George - SWING!") gets stuck in my head all day.  We BOTH loved that Crown Center has a Curious George exhibit on loan from the Minneapolis Children's Museum all summer!
 

 
 

On Tuesday morning, we met Shauna and Finley so the girls could monkey around together.  (Come on. You knew that was coming.)

 

Also, sorry about the weirdness of these photos!  The lighting was very strange in the exhibit, and it made everything very yellow and there's a lot of blurring due to low light...

Sarah was thrilled when George himself greeted us at the door!

Sarah spent about three seconds at the produce stand and then about three hours at the cash register!

Eventually, we moved on to the next part of the exhibit, where the girls got to use giant fans to make some kites blow around.  As cool as that sounds, it was pretty boring and we moved on quickly.

 

Luckily, the next part of the exhibit featured doors that open and close.  Those are ALWAYS a hit!

No fingers got mashed inside doors, but we eventually headed over to the farm section of the exhibit.  The girls worked together to make sure all the animals were happy inside a pen!

Sarah tried her hand at building with some Tiddlywinks, too.

Sometimes it was just plain TOUGH.

Finley thought it might be fun to blast off with George...

 

...and Sarah spent some time with The Doorman.

Then the girls discovered Jumpy the Squirrel's tree!

Finally, it was time to give George a good-bye hug.

George is a monkey, and he can do things we can't do.  But girls can eat lunch at Fritz's, which is an opportunity that George will never have.

For those of you who live out of town, Fritz's is a KC institution.  They've been around since the mid-1950s, and the big draw is that you order your food by phone and it is delivered to your table by an overhead train.  Also, all little conductors get a goofy paper hat to wear!

 

The trains are lots of fun, but trust me - you don't go for the food.   It's horrible.  And extremely overpriced.  Not that Sarah cares!

 Finley and Sarah are both daughters of teachers.  Who do you think will have to have more conversations with their daughter's teacher - me or Shauna?  Jeesh...
