40 Weeks Old

February 4 - February 10

Oh, this girl!  On Feb. 6, Kate had her 9 month well visit.  She weighed in at 18 1/2 pounds and was 2 feet, 5 inches long.  I didn't have a lot of questions for the doctor, but the one thing I was a little concerned about was Kate's total lack of teeth.  As luck would have it, though, Kate tried to gnaw on my finger in the waiting room and - SURPRISE!!!  She had not one but TWO bottom teeth!  They had broken through at some point Thursday night or Friday during the day without me knowing it!

Despite the apparent ease of teething, though, this weekend was a little rough! Adam and Megan moved into their new house, so Sarah and I spent a lot of time assisting with that.  Luckily, Daddy was home to play with and cuddle Kate - which was great because her stinky ear infection came back full-force on Sunday!

The antibiotics had kicked in by the start of this week, so she spent a lot of time racing around the house on all fours.  Recently, she's been "running the lap" around the first floor of our house.  Sometimes she gets sidetracked and climbs the stairs.  And then sometimes she gets sidetracked and sucks on the knob of the bottom drawer of our kitchen cabinets...

Sometimes she aims high (literally) and goes for the knob on the next drawer up...

But mostly she likes that bottom one!  It's hilarious when she actually opens it with her mouth...
