Last summer, I caught some fireflies for Sarah. She was pretty unimpressed. This summer Sarah had her first experience actually catching them. I think it was a lot more fun for her than just looking at the bugs I had caught!
Some were in the grass...
...some were hovering low enough for her to catch them.
She kind of freaked out a little once they were in her hands, but we eventually got a couple of them in her bug habitat for a while! Sarah named them "Fiery" and "Buggy."
Soon, though, it was time to say good-bye to our new friends. Sarah wished them well on their journey through our backyard.
Then off they went!
