Shatto TWO-our

That's right.  We went BACK to Shatto Farms.  And why wouldn't we?!?  You get to milk a cow, you get to try delicious, delicious samples, and you have a ready-made excuse to spend time with friends and family at a kid-friendly event!  YEA!!!

Some parts of the tour were the same.  Good old Aubrey was still the unfortunate cow that had been picked to be milked by a bunch of small children and city folk who have now clue how to milk a cow.  You can almost see her mentally rolling her eyes...

Some things were new, though!  The calves that we had met just a few weeks ago were already out in the pasture, and a new calf (named Solstice because she was born on the summer solstice) was hanging out in the barn.

Sarah loved playing with the straw, and I just tried not to think about what else was on the barn floor!

The awesome mooing truck wasn't available for the kids to see in the bottling plant, but it was rolling around out on the farm!  The driver was kind enough to push the mooing horn for the kids as he drove past, though.

This time through the plant, Shatto was bottling their chocolate milk.  It's a good thing we went straight from the plant into the tasting room!

Once again, we got to sample butter, cheese and milk.  This time, though, there were a couple of new flavors!  The new cheese (garlic-mushroom) was seriously yum.

We also got to sample all of the same standard flavors we had before, but this time we also got a sneak-peek preview taste of their newest "seasonal" milk.  July's milk flavor will be Apple Pie.  It was good, but I don't know that I need to go buy a quart of it!

I love me some Shatto!!!
