This weekend was full of fall fun! On Friday, we met the Bartel clan for Leawood Park's Freaky Fall Festival. Sarah was pretty tired (she didn't nap on Friday), but she managed to perk up a bit for her first-ever trunk or treat experience!
She wasn't sure what to think about this lion. In her defense, I'm not sure making small children reach into the mouth of a scary lion to get candy is the best way to spread positive feelings about the Leawood Lions Club...
Once we got past the lion, things were a lot more fun!
Sarah was excited to see the Leawood Fire Department and their big, shiny truck.
Even the Leawood Police had candy to share!
After getting all sugared up, we visited the petting zoo. Sarah loved chasing the ducks and petting the sheep. The petting zoo also had the largest rabbit I've ever seen!
Sarah also had her first-ever bounce house experience on Friday night! She was very interested in the Thomas the Train bounce house, and we decided to let her go for it. She was uncertain at first, but once she got in there, she really enjoyed the bouncy part!
After having fun in the smaller part of the bounce house, Sarah decided to try the bigger play area.
Unfortunately, her experience ended as all bounce house experiences end - with her being knocked down by bigger kids. A few tears and she was ready to party on, but we were definitely done with the bounce houses for the night. Luckily, she had lots and lots of candy to cheer her up!
