The weather this month has been ridiculous. Super cold air (which the meteorologists blamed on a "Polar Vortex" sweeping from the Arctic across most of North America) hit early in January. The month started out so cold that school was actually canceled due to dangerous wind chills on Monday, January 6. The following Sunday, though, it was 63 degrees. We had a week of relatively normal temperatures but crazy strong winds. Then we got another nice Sunday on January 19 (63 again, folks!) before it dropped to 17 degrees on January 23! This past Sunday was another nice one with temperatures in the upper 50s, but Monday was a steamy 21 degrees.
I am SO over this bi-polar weather!
Poor Sarah doesn't know what to think. She keeps wanting to go out and play in the backyard when it's freezing out and doesn't understand why we won't let her...especially since we didn't make her wear a coat when she played outside the day before! Needless to say, we have tried to find alternatives for her when it comes to playtime.
Tom took her to Burger King the other night and let her climb and play for almost an hour!
This Sunday (one of the nice days!), we walked to Matt Taylor Park for some outdoor playtime.
On the walk home, Sarah decided that it was so warm she would take off her coat. She also seemed to think that I was crazy for dressing her in pants and not in shorts that morning! Luckily, she is nothing if not a good problem-solver, so she just hiked them up herself and marched down the sidewalk like this all the way home...
Looks like I'm not the only one ready for spring!!!
