This weekend, we took our annual trip to Red Barn Farm in Weston. It was as fun and beautiful as ever, but this year we had Kate to enjoy it with us! She seemed to enjoy her first trip to the pumpkin patch, and Sarah was pretty happy (most of the trip!) to be there, too.
Kate soaked in the sights.
Sarah ran amok through the pumpkins.
We calmed it down long enough to take some photos, though!
Then it was back to running through the pumpkins!
We took a few more photos...
...and then we hit the "farm" part of Red Barn Farm!
Sarah and Tom fed the chickens.
Kate was not interested.
Tom fed the goats. Sarah was not interested.
She was interested, however, in climbing the hay bale!
Sarah was also excited to ride the "pretend horse."
Then we took our yearly picture with Tom and Sarah. Only this time, we got to include Kate! Sarah wasn't super cooperative by this point, so we took one with just Kate.
Luckily, we were able to convince Sarah to pretend to be happy for just long enough for me to snap one of Tom and both girls!
Then it was back to the barn to pick out a pumpkin to take home! Kate took a passive approach to pumpkin picking this year.
Sarah, after weeks of talking about a "tall, skinny pumpkin," went with a small, round pumpkin for her and a slightly larger small, round pumpkin for Kate. I will never understand this child...
We purchased our pumpkins, then Kate and I hung out for a minute while Daddy and Sarah got some kettle corn, cider donuts and a cider slush! Sarah also got a water balloon yo-yo that made it until that night - I guess they don't last long with toddlers playing with them!
See you next year, Red Barn Farm!!!
(For the sake of comparison, here are the photos from previous trips to the pumpkin patch:)
