Disneyland, Day 4

Sunday, December 6 - Day 4

We started our last day of Disney with a bang - breakfast at the Carnation Inn with Minnie and friends!

Rafiki greeted us at the door...

...and the Fairy Godmother presented Sarah with character buttons and showed us to our table!

Before we even had time to get food, Gus (Goofy's son) was at our table to say hi and sign autographs!

Then Tigger came by.

And the Fairy Godmother came back.

And Eeyore came by for a hug.

We got hugs from Minnie, too!

Rafiki came back for some high-fives.

And Winnie the Pooh stopped by to say hi.

Chip and Dale were there, too! (This one is Dale, I think...)

And then we got breakfast. FINALLY!

Sarah was as excited about the Jello as she was about Minnie Mouse!

While we were eating, Chip stopped by.

Sarah thought it was hilarious that Chip tried to give me a packet of hot sauce to eat. I thought Chip was more of a sneaky snook than Captain Hook...who also stopped by!

We finally finished our breakfast (which was seriously the best meal we had at Disneyland) and then posed with Minnie for another photo before heading out into the park one last time...

I gave Sarah the choice of what she wanted to do on our last day, and she voted to spend our time at California Adventure. We hit Cars Land first thing, and we were able to ride Radiator Springs Racers while the line was still short and then grab a Fast Pass to ride again just before we had to leave!

On our way out of Radiator Springs Racers, we got to see Red the firetruck from Cars. It wasn't a meet and greet like we had with Lightning McQueen or Tow Mater, so we just waved and took a picture to prove that we'd seen him!

As we turned around to walk toward Grizzly Peak, Tow Mater was rolling down the street!

Sarah and I rode the tractors...

...and then walked over toward Grizzly Peak so Sarah could ride Grizzly River Run one last time. On our way, though, we stopped at Paradise Pier to ride the Little Mermaid. We also got to meet Jesse and Buzz!

"To infinity and beyond!"

We rode Grizzly River Run one last time (I totally took off my shoes and wore my poncho so I wouldn't be wet on the plane!), and then grabbed lunch at the Grizzly Peak Airfield and sat in the warm California sun to enjoy ourselves.

As we headed back to Cars Land, we passed the Redwood Obstacle Course. I was thrilled to see Doug from "Up" standing out front! There was next to no line, so poor Sarah had to suffer through her mom hugging a giant dog...

After I made a total fool of myself (meeting Doug almost made up for not meeting Woody!), we headed over to Radiator Springs Racers for our last race of the trip.

Sarah and I were both sad that we were running out of time at Disneyland. We had a few minutes before we needed to head to the airport, though, so we covered up our sorrow with Mickey-shaped ice cream!

When the ice cream was gone, said good-bye to the park and headed toward the exits. Who should we run into on our way out, however, but Mickey himself!  He was getting ready to participate in one of the street celebrations, but Mickey was representative of Walt Disney heading from Kansas City to California with a heart full of dreams. Kind of fitting, considering we were returning to Kansas City with our hearts full of memories!

Until next time, Mickey! Thanks for the amazing memories...
