30 Weeks Old

October 17 - October 23

We spent more time outside this week because it's been just beautiful!  We know we'll be stuck inside all winter, so we're trying to get as much outdoor time in as we can before the weather changes on us.  Unfortunately, all those walks weren't enough to keep the Pickle happy.  Usually she just steals food from the counters or the table.  This time, she destroyed a diaper bag.  Shredded is really a more accurate description:

I told her next time she destroys anything that has a monetary value above $50 or is used on a daily basis, she'll have to pay me back in dog food.  I think she understood...

On Friday, Sarah turned 7 months old!  She's sitting up all by herself and is stringing together consonants and vowel sounds.  "Da-da-da-da" is a particular favorite.  She screeches and giggles, and she does this funny little laugh where she just sucks air in.  It's adorable, and I can't wait to see what she masters as a 7-month-old!

Sarah is also eating all kinds of foods from puffs and yogurt to plumot puree! This weekend she tried her first "table food" - a teeny tiny bite of Mom's pumpkin waffle...

When she was full, we just let her provide our breakfast entertainment for us.  Nothing like an empty plastic cup to bang on a tray and drop on the floor!  And yes, that IS a cup from a bar.

Saturday afternoon, we rocked our K-State gear to watch the KU vs. K-State football game.  K-State won handily - making us undefeated - but College GameDay is still going to Los Angeles rather than Manhattan next week!  Stupid Oklahoma lost their game, so I blame them for not getting to see Lee Corso wear the Willie the Wildcat head...

That afternoon, Sarah hung out in her jumper. She's figured out that it's for jumping, so she has a lot more fun with it now!

Grandpa Jeff came over for a little while on Saturday afternoon, too.  He does this adorable little thing with Sarah where he uses the bill of his ball cap to play Peek-a-Boo with her.  She loves the hat, so this time she got to wear it for a while!

Of course, a girl can only wear a hat so long before she is overcome by the need to eat it instead...

Peek-a-Boo with Grandpa Jeff - how fun!
