January 9 - January 15
This week was pretty typical for us. We played with Sarah. We went to work. We cleaned the house and did our chores - then we played with Sarah some more! She has been eager to "walk" with us (we hold her hands while she prances around on her tiptoes), and this week she made an entire lap around the first floor of our house! As soon as she figures out this balance thing, she'll be off on her own for sure!
She is still really excited about books, and they are just about the only thing she'll sit still for! This week's favorite was The Noisy Farm. It has flaps that fold out on each page, which makes it new and exciting each time she reads it...
She is also a big fan of the cabinets under our TV. These are super fun because you can bang them closed, and (when you get tired of that) they are full of toys to pull out and spread all over the room!
On Wednesday night, we had the first snow of 2012. It wasn't much (maybe a 1/4"), but it sure got cold out! It was 10 degrees outside Friday morning, so we made sure Sarah was bundled up good! Luckily, it warmed up again quickly, and by Saturday it was comfortable outside again.
Tom went to watch football with the boys Saturday night, so Grammie and Grandpa Jeff came over to have dinner and get in some quality time with Sarah. Grandpa Jeff even helped with her bath and read her a bedtime story (Llama, Llama, Red Pajama)! They also brought her a play kitchen, which is exactly the right height for her to stand at. It also has doors to open and close, and a table to crawl under. Needless to say, she loves it!
In true Kansas weather fashion, it was 63 degrees outside on Sunday afternoon (yes, it WAS 10 degrees out on Friday!). Sarah and I went to the park to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air - without a coat! She had fun swinging and playing peek-a-boo with me through the window in the play equipment. She also had fun going down the slide with me! This was her first time down a slide, and she wasn't sure what to think at first. She was very brave, though, and gave me a big smile at the bottom of the slide!
Two other firsts this weekend - her first time to eat an ice cube (our pathetic attempt to make teething fun!)...
...and her first real bedhead! Pretty nice, huh?
