This morning, we bundled up in coats and sweatshirts and drove to Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO, to pick out our Halloween pumpkin. It was chilly when we got there (low 40s), but the sun was shining and the farm was as beautiful this year as it was last year!
Sarah had a blast looking at all the pumpkins and gourds. She would run up to investigate a pile of them and then notice a new pile just a few feet away. She would point, yell, "More, more!" and run off to see if those pumpkins were any different than the ones she had just been looking at. It was super cute!
Eventually, Sarah had seen enough pumpkins that we were able to go see some of the animals they keep at the farm. We saw some baby pigs keeping warm under their straw. Then we saw some goats and sheep (neither of which Sarah wanted anything to do with!). When we got to the chickens, Sarah noticed that some of their feathers had fallen off and were in the yard next to their pen. She was even nice enough to return the feathers to their rightful owners...
We checked out the turkeys and geese, and then we headed up to the top of the hill to let Sarah to climb on some hay bales. She did a great job of not falling off, and she had lots of fun sliding back down!
From the top of the hay bales, Sarah spotted the horses that the farm uses to pull their hayride wagon. Daddy took her up to see them, but she wasn't too sure what to do with them...
When she had had her fill of the horses, Sarah took off back down the hill with her daddy trailing after her.
By the time she was done running back down the hill, Sarah was tired and hungry. She just plopped down on the grass to grab a quick sip of milk before taking off to check out more pumpkins!

We tried to get some cute pictures for Halloween cards, but Sarah was more interested in trying to roll the pumpkin off the bench than she was in looking at the camera. Oh, well - at least she had fun!
Both Mommy and Daddy took advantage of the beautiful day and Sarah's happy attitude to take some pictures with her...
Finally, we picked out a pumpkin to take home. Sarah looked and looked, trying to find one that she really liked...
Searching for that perfect pumpkin was such hard work that Sarah took a quick break to have some milk/pose for photos (she even said "cheese!").
Then she was off again in search of that special pumpkin she wanted to take home.
SUCCESS!!!
