This year we spent the 4th of July in Paris with Grandma Linda and Grandpa David. Sarah was sick that day, but she still managed to have fun and charm the pants off everyone she saw!
She kept herself entertained on the ride there by wearing a Kleenex as a hat:
We spent a lot of time playing in Grandma and Grandpa's front yard.
We stopped by to see a few more folks, then we cut the visit short to take our sick kiddo home. The poor girl passed out in the car at the gas station before we even left town!
Luckily, whatever she had was fast moving, and she was feeling better by the weekend. We took her down to Linn Valley Lakes for their firework display, and she loved it!
Sarah had fun playing with the patriotic glasses Grammie had for her.
She also got to see some deer...
...play some horseshoes with Uncle Adam...
...and hijack Pa-Pa's golf cart!
She also got to go fishing with Pa-Pa!
Luckily, sitting on the dock gave them a great view of the Linn Valley 4th of July Boat Parade (if you can call six boats and an inflatable killer whale a "parade").
Then we headed back to Grammie and Pa-Pa's to light some of the fireworks we had picked up on the way home from Paris on the 4th. Nothing like a half-price sale at 6:00 on July 4th to prompt the purchase of 100s of tanks and sparklers!
After a ton of smoke and loud noises, we went over to the O'Hagan's house to watch the lake's official firework display. First, though, we enjoyed some peach cobbler and ice cream!
Then it was time for fireworks!
Happy 4th of July!
