Last year, Sarah wasn't so sure about Santa. In fact, he terrified her. We were hopeful that this year would be different, so we took Sarah to see Santa at the lighting of the mayor's Christmas tree in downtown Overland Park.
She liked the tree...
...and she liked the horses pulling the "sleigh ride"...
...but she wasn't about to go anywhere near Santa unless Mommy was holding her!
She did respond, though, when Santa asked her what she wanted this year! She said she wants a toy Ellie (her stuffed elephant lovie that goes everywhere with her is Ellie) and a sled. This is the same girl who HATED snow last year and wouldn't have anything to do with a sled! Interesting choices, Sarah. Interesting choices...
The next morning we tried again when we had breakfast with Santa at Chick Fil A. Again, Sarah wouldn't sit on Santa's lap, but this time she stood next to him without anyone needing to hold her. Baby steps, right? Luckily, we still have Santa At Sprint day coming up. Think she'll be braver by then???
